Fees of Solicitors in the Court of Session, Sheriff Appeal Court and Sheriff Court

Jun 11, 2018

Having approved draft rules submitted to it by the Council, the Court of Session has made the  Act of Sederunt (Fees of Solicitors in the Court of Session, Sheriff Appeal Court and Sheriff Court Amendment) 2018.

The Act of Sederunt amends the Tables of Fees that are used to calculate the sums that can be recovered under an award of expenses for work carried out by a party’s solicitor in the Court of Session, Sheriff Appeal Court and Sheriff Court.  It increases all fees provided for in the tables by 5% where the work in question is carried out on or after 24 September 2018. Fees for work carried out before that date are unaffected. The last general increase in the level of fees was in March 2014.

The new fees apply from 24 September 2018.
