Temporary Exclusion Orders

Feb 06, 2017

These Rules implement provisions in the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015. These provisions are in Part 1 Chapter 2 and Schedules 2 and 3 which relate to civil proceedings.

The 2015 Act provides for the creation of a Temporary Exclusion Order (TEO) to disrupt and control the return to the UK of a British citizen reasonably suspected of involvement in terrorist activity abroad.

The instrument amends the Rules of the Court of Session to facilitate TEOs being made under the 2015 Act and comes into force on 14 February 2017.
