Advocate member reappointed

Advocate member, Lynda Brabender QC, has been reappointed to the Scottish Civil Justice Council. 

She will take up the three-year post on 28 September 2019. 

The appointment was made by the Lord President following an open and competitive recruitment exercise in consultation with the Faculty of Advocates. 

The Lord President, Lord Carloway, the Chair of the Council, said: “I am delighted that Lynda Brabender is continuing with the Council. She has already brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Council and its Family Law Committee.” 

Lynda Brabender QC has been a member of the Faculty of Advocates since 2005 and specialises in Family and Child Law and Public Law as it relates to children. She took silk in 2017. Lynda is a member of the Faculty of Advocates Disciplinary Tribunals and was a member of the Faculty Council from 2010 to 2013. She is Vice Chair of the Advocates Family Law Association and is the Faculty of Advocates representative on the Scottish Government working group on bar reporters. Lynda was a Convener of the Additional Support Needs Tribunal for Scotland from 2005 to 2010. Further information about Lynda can be found here.
